Daily Routines in Chinese

Daily Routines

The Golden Rule of Chinese Grammar

Before we look at the vocabulary, remember this simple sentence structure for daily routines:

Subject + Time + Action

In English, we often put the time at the end (“I go to work at 8“). In Mandarin Chinese, the time usually comes before the action.

  • English: He goes to work at 8:00.

  • Chinese: He goes to work.
