Pattern

In Chinese, when we talk about today’s date, weekday, or special days, we use the sentence pattern:

今天是……
Jīntiān shì …
Today is …

Jīntiān shì xīngqī yī.
Today is Monday.

今天是星期二。 🔊
Jīntiān shì xīngqī èr.
Today is Tuesday.

今天是星期三。 🔊
Jīntiān shì xīngqī sān.
Today is Wednesday.

今天是星期四。 🔊
Jīntiān shì xīngqī sì.
Today is Thursday.

今天是星期五。 🔊
